Dr. Finley, Surgeon

I know what my Silky terrier puppy would be if he were human and had opposable thumbs:

Introducing Dr Finley, MD.....Surgeon! He takes apart EVERY toy he owns. And not only takes them apart, he does it meticulously and with surgeon like precision!! This morning he diagnosed Green Guy with gangrene and decided the limb had to be amputated. Yep, I'm a proud dog mama.....we'd have a doctor in the family! lol! :)

SOOO Excited!!

Oh yes....I am a huge nerd and I am sooooo excited to see the last Harry Potter!! So bittersweet! I am just bummed I forgot to arrange my schedule to go see the midnight show on Thursday night. It would have been fun to go to as Greg and I went to go see the Goblet of Fire midnight premiere as our unofficial first date back in November of 2005. :)

Save the Dates

I reallllly need to get my save the dates out!! We bought super cute magnets to send but keep procrastinating! We are planning to send a letter out with the save the dates to explain what we are doing and I think that is the hold up. Its been hard to find time to sit and crank it out! Maybe tonight after we take Lola to get her yearly shots.....

I think the biggest issue for me in sending them out is that it makes this whole thing real. Knowing that your future in-laws hate you really makes wedding planning difficult. The thought of shelling out all that money to feed people who say the most horrible (and untrue) things makes my stomach turn. Especially since the in-laws aren't contributing ANYTHING to the cost. I just have to keep reminding myself that I am doing this for Greg. I was (and still am) fine with eloping! But, he feels obligated to listen to his family and let them tell him what to do even when they act extremely evil to me. A looooong story that I will get to another time.

But this letter! Yikes! Maybe I will just do it myself and let Greg add/delete whatever he wants. So one sided though......

My Puppies!

There are probably going to be a lot of posts about my hilarious pups so I guess I should introduce them:

~Lola~
Lola is a 2 year old West Highland White Terrier (or more commonly known as a Westie). Greg and I got her the week we moved into our first place together in the city back in April 2009. He wanted to wait a couple of months, but we found her and she won! :) She was 12 weeks when we brought her home.She is super friendly....loves babies of any species....and has an independent streak like her parents! Oh, and stubborn is her middle name!!

~Finley~
Finn is a 1 year old Silky Terrier. Once again, we weren't going to get another dog just yet, but we found him from a breeder not far from our place out in the 'burbs and fell in love with him! We brought him home in August 2010 when he was 8 weeks old. He is super cuddly and is never far from one of us if we are home. He is Lola's puppy, not ours! lol! He is her baby and they love each other so much...super cute! He is STILL in his puppy chewing faze (much to our dismay). He's a lover, but not a lover of babies like Lola. Quincy still intimidates him quite a bit!

I think I love these two way more than you are supposed to love dogs!! <3

Wedding

In case anyone is wondering....we do have a few "checks" done on the wedding planning!

#1- Date: March 17th, 2012 (I loooove St. Patrick's Day!!)

#2- Location: Vegas Baby!! Caesars' Palace!

#3- Reception: Cocktail and hor d'oeuvre reception at super cute Trevi in the Forum Shops at Caesars'.

#4- Dress: DONE and BOUGHT!! Love, love, love it! Never thought I could afford my dream dress....but a little luck and perseverance paid off!!!

#5- Save the Dates: Bought....just need to be put in the mail (a goal for this weekend!).

#6- Photographer: Found great reviews for a photographer named Todd at Bently/Wilson. Love his pics! Super excited we were able to book him!

So....that leaves the invitations, a veil, dress accessories, shoes, suits, bridesmaid dresses, flights, hotel rooms, welcome bags, favors, gourmet cupcakes....and I am sure more. But, we are 8 months out...plenty of time, right?!

Trying Again....

Ok, so quite a few of my friends have great blogs!!! (That's you Mo and Holly!) I find them so entertaining that I am going to try once again to start mine up. I am worried that my life isn't interesting enough....but then I think to my 12 hour days as a pediatric nurse in a large metropolitan city, my crazy yet funny family that includes a 6 and a half foot tall Dutchman as an opinionated (but wonderful) step-father, a nearly 21 year old brother trying to figure out life, and two more little brothers aged 2 years and 7 months respectively (yes, BROTHERS, and yes, I am going on 27......you do the math!)
In addition to my family (who I though was as crazy as they come), enter my future in-laws.......they bring crazy to a WHOLE new level!
Now, add to a mix my wonderful fiance, 2 wacky terriers, and wedding planning.....ok...maybe life isn't so boring after all! ;-)
